0 - 625 mR/h (0 - 6.25 mSv/h)
Low/Medium Level Radiation / Radioactive Contamination Detection (α/β/γ)
Condition: Used, Verified 2025 & Operational, Original Parts
Power Supply: Requires 4, 9v Batteries (Not Included).
Victoreen 190 Radiation Survey and Count Rate Meter (significantly faster than the Ranger or other pancake detectors)
1. This survey meter with the accompanying Victoreen 489-110D Alpha/Beta/Gamma pancake probe has an effective range of up to ~625 mR/h (6.25 mSv/h), ~2,250,000 (2.25 Million CPM), ~37K CPS.
After these thresholds the detector will display OVERRANGE. The analog portion of the meter continues to measure until the GM tube saturates at just over 900 mR/h (9 mSv/h) and 2.5 Million CPM.
The survey meter has an incredibly fast response time and can reach the measurement of sources within a few seconds.
The calibration is contained on the EPROM which is housed in the black MHV plug-in. (~3300 CPM per 1 mR/h for Cs137)
This meter can be used with other probes but the dose readings will not be accurate. CPM and CPS readings will not be affected and will be accurate.
The connections are MHV throughout meaning any 900v probe can be attached and or the cable can be used on other MHV survey meters.
The meter has an integrate i.e. dose mode. This shows the accumulated dose or accounts and the amount of time it has accumulated it for. It is reset by turning the meter off.
The survey meter is also equipped with a DU operational check source that reads on average '1.8 mR/h' ('10.8 uSv/h'), ~6,000 CPM with the pancake probe.
There is a red backlight to illuminate the meter face.
Rubber heat shrink has small tear on one end of cable, this has not affected readings.
Log Data function is not available.
The meter is used, there will be signs of such usage.

Features:
Front Panel Controls Eight push-button switches:
LIGHT (2): either activates the LCD backlight;
MODE: Changes the display units;
LOG: Stores currently displayed data or changes current location identifier, depending on the currently active logging mode;
RATE/INTEG: Toggles the alphanumeric display between the digitized rate value and the integrate value;
RESP TIME: Changes the response time on the first range or resets the integrate value and elapsed time;
AUDIO: Toggles the click output associated with counting events in the detector, turns Audio on/off, and acknowledges alarm conditions;
ON/OFF: Turns instrument power on/off when permitted by the microprocessor (i.e., when data logging is inactive or all logged data has been read by a PC).
Dose Reset when detector is turned off an on again.
Switch Between mR/h Dose Rate to CPM/CPS Count Setting (any probe can be used independent of the Dose Rate Calibration when used in the Count setting).
Switch Between Rate and Dose (switch between count rate or mR/h rate and accumulated dose or counts).
Audio is via internal speaker
MHV Connector
